2 teens crash after leading police to chase Childs Avenue [Merced, CA]

2 minors started chase that ended in accident on Childs Avenue

MERCED, CA (December 20, 2021) – Two 15-year-olds led police in a Childs Avenue chase on Sunday morning.

According to reports, the incident began around 2:30 a.m. in the East Childs Avenue and Campus Parkway area.

Additionally, the investigation indicates that the Merced Police Department attempted to stop a red Toyota that did not stop at a red light. But the Toyota driver didn’t give in and then led the officer in a short chase.

Eventually, the chase ended when the car collided with a center median. Officers located the two occupants of the vehicle, aged 15.

At that time, cops said the two teenagers had not sustained any injuries. So far, no further information about the wreck has been released.

Merced Police are actively investigating the accident on Childs Avenue, once available further information will be released.
