3 businesses displaced by demolition of Stillwater Avenue building

A building off Stillwater Avenue that housed a vitamin supplement store, medical marijuana dispensary and vegan cafe that opened there less than six months ago has been demolished after it was sold to a new owner.

The building at 109 Bangor Mall Boulevard, which is located in the same development as Hannaford on Stillwater Avenue, was sold last month to Portland firm Exchange Street Partners, according to Bangor Code Enforcement Office records. .

Exchange Street Partners contracted Carmel-based Sitewerx to begin demolishing the building last week. By Monday afternoon, it had almost completely disappeared.

The building once housed the Bangor location of Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse.

It had recently housed Little Gem Cafe, Native Green Apothecary and Mainely Supplements.

Little Gem opened its location there in October.

A voicemail to the cafe’s phone number said the company was in the process of finding an alternate location. The company said in a Facebook post that February 19 was his last day at his original location.

Mainely Supplements opened at a different location on Hogan Road on Feb. 21, according to its Facebook page. No one from Native Green Apothecary could be reached on Monday.

Messages left with Exchange Street Partners and its property manager were not returned Monday afternoon.
