Avenue partners with Gomersal & Cleckheaton to provide opportunities

BRADFORD (Park Avenue) and Gomersal & Cleckheaton come together to provide pathways and opportunities for young players.

The partnership is part of the ‘Club Partnership Program’ which Avenue recently announced.

Gomersal & Cleckheaton will attend a Bradford First Team game (Park Avenue) for a game day experience at Horsfall Community Stadium.

But more importantly, the partnership will also offer Gomersal & Cleckheaton players the opportunity to access the all-new BPA Performance Center, in partnership with Sheffield United, for the under 7 to under 10 age groups.

The Bradford (Park Avenue) Scholarship Program, which is offered in partnership with Bradford College for 16-18 year olds, will be available as a pathway for Gomersal and Cleckheaton players.

The scholarship will provide young players with the opportunity to study and train full time.

Educational streams include sports, business, barbering, plumbing, mechanics, carpentry, and uniformed utilities.

Meanwhile, the Bradford (Park Avenue) Academy has teams that play in the U19 Alliance Youth league and the varsity league.

Commenting on the partnership, Bradford Academy (Park Avenue) Technical Director Tom McStravick said: “We are fortunate to be able to provide a real path for our first team here at BPA.

“The Club Partner Program is the perfect way for us to be able to provide this opportunity to local talent.

“As a club, we want to engage with the local football community to help. We look forward to working with Gomersal & Cleckheaton to help them progress and develop as a football club.
