Bellemont’s limestone facade continues at 1165 Madison Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Façade installation continues on the Bellemont, a 13-storey residential building in 1165 Madison Avenue on manhattan Upper East Side. Conceived by Robert AM Stern Architects with SLCE Architects as official architect and developed by Naftali Group, the 120-foot-tall structure will span 67,680 square feet and produce 12 condominium units with interiors by Achille Salvagni and sales and marketing by Compass Development Marketing Group, as well as 3,749 square feet of space retail on the ground floor. Titanium Construction Services is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Madison Avenue and East 86th Street, just steps from Central Park.

Since our latest update in late July, the scaffolding and black netting assembly climbed higher into the superstructure as work moved to the ornamental crown. The construction elevator was dismantled from the west corner facing Madison Avenue, and more limestone panels were installed around the second-level arched windows. Metal and stone railings will eventually be put in place along some windows, balconies and setbacks as the work progresses.

The main entrance will be located in the center of the west profile, which is shown in the main rendering with a curved sidewalk canopy protruding from the arched entrance. Flanking either side are floor-to-ceiling windows and separate pairs of doors for the two retail spaces. The wraparound sidewalk scaffolding will likely remain in place for a few more months until work on the upper levels is complete.

Bellemont’s residential facilities include an outdoor rooftop terrace overlooking Central Park, a screening room, regulation squash court, children’s playroom and holistic fitness area.

1165 Madison Avenue is expected to be completed next summer, as shown on the on-site construction sign.
