This week, Bristal Assisted Living opened Bristal on York Avenue, its first assisted living facility for seniors in Manhattan. Located at 1622 York Avenue on the Upper East Side, the 14-story property offers 102,000 square feet with 132 apartments for seniors in need of independent or assisted living, highly specialized care for residents with the disease Alzheimer’s or dementia, and a collection of equipment and hobbies. the spaces. H2M Architects + Engineers is the designer of the building, which sits at the corner of York Avenue and 86th Street.
Located from the 2nd to the 14th floor, all Bristal apartments are studios. Floor plans range from 325 square feet to 424 square feet, priced at $12,800 per month for a self-contained living unit. A total of 44 apartments are reserved for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and start at $20,150 per month.
Amenities at the Bristal include a beauty salon, bistro, two dining rooms, fitness center, flexible recreation and activity room, and outdoor patio. Additional services include daily meals and housekeeping, in-unit emergency response systems that can detect sudden falls, scheduled transportation to sites and events around Manhattan, and a rotating schedule of social events.
The Bristal Assisted Living brand is owned by property developer Engel Burman. The 23 properties associated with the brand are located throughout the New York metropolitan area, including New Jersey and Long Island. Each facility is managed by Ultimate Care Assisted Living Management, which is also owned by Engel Burman.
