Dollarama opens a second store on Northern Avenue

A nearly 20-year-old Dollarama store on Northern Avenue East will continue to operate after a sister store recently opened in the Metro Mall across the street.

The Montreal-based retail chain opened a new store at 248 Northern Avenue East on October 13.

Dollarama also has a location at 293 Northern Ave. E., the former home of Consumers Distributing. This store opened in the fall of 2003.

The chain’s stores are typically around 10,000 square feet, 85% of which is dedicated to retail space. On average, 16 employees work at each site.

Dollarama (TSE:DOL) closed at $79.74 on Wednesday. The company’s stock price has ranged from $54.28 to $83.95 over the past 52 weeks.
