Governor Congratulates Jharkhand Karatekas on Medal Harvest

Jamshedpur, 23 June: Five karatekas from Jharkhand who won medals at the BG International Karate Championship held in Bangladesh, met with the Governor of Jharkhand, Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhawan in Ranchi on Wednesday. The karatekas were accompanied by L. Nageshwar Rao, Head Coach, Tata Steel Karate Training Center and Vice President, Karate Association of India.

The governor congratulated the children for their accomplishments. Attributing success to their hard work, Governor Bais encouraged them to keep working hard to achieve greater success in life and make Jharkhand proud.

Nageshwar Rao, who is also the Secretary General of Jharkhand State Karate Association, thanked the Governor for sparing his valuable time with the medalists and encouraging them.

Medalists include gold medalist Niraj Kumar (21+) in the Black Belt Kata category,

Silver medalist Pranab Paul (18 years and over) in the Black Belt Kata category, Silver medalist Karnisha Das Kumar (18 years and over) in the Black Belt Kata category,

Adarsh ​​Kumar Singh (18+) won silver in the Black Belt Kata category,

Harsh Paul (18+) also won the silver medal in the Black Belt Kumite category.

Pranab Paul (18+) won the silver medal in the Black Belt Kumite category.

The championship was held at BKSP Sports Village Indoor Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh which was attended by karate teams from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
