Did you know Safeway is owned by Albertsons?
If you didn’t know, Albertsons owns Safeway and Albertsons will be changing the location from Clearwater Avenue Kennewick to Safeway in the coming months.
Albertsons has already changed one of its other stores from an Albertsons to a Safeway a few years ago on Gage Blvd in Richland and it seems like another logical move for the company.
What will the new Kennewick Safeway on Clearwater Avenue be?
The new Safeway will include a new Starbucks kiosk and customers will see 1.2 million additional upgrades to the Clearwater site.
According to the article, the square footage of the store will remain the same, but the pharmacy will add a drive-thru window and be relocated to the store.
When can we expect Albertsons to switch to Safeway in Kennewick?
Work permits have not yet been submitted but work should start in the near future.
Don’t be surprised in 2022 if you see the Safeway sign go up and an expansion of the property to become the next Safeway in the Tri-Cities.
