HOLLAND – Goodwill Industries of West Michigan will open a new store and donation center after moving to Washington Avenue in Holland.
The store’s second location at 393 E. Lakewood Blvd. in Holland Township will not be affected. The new store and donation will open at 1024 Washington Ave. along with the store at 1180 Washington Ave. closes its doors.
“(It’s) more of a relocation,” said retail operations manager Jim Cherney. “We have outgrown our current location and wanted to expand our sales floor and improve our drive-through donation experience for our customers.”
Construction of the new 8,400 square foot store is a bespoke arrangement with Shull Investment Properties, assisted by Jeffrey Parker Architects and Odanah Construction, a minority company.

The new store will be “brighter and more open” with new lighting, new flooring, a glass vestibule and more.
“(We are) thrilled to open a beautiful new store in Holland,” Cherney said. “This community has always been so generous and always supportive of our mission. The large covered drive-thru in the front of the store is a unique feature that our donors will appreciate.”
The opening date, depending on the inspections, is scheduled for the end of April. The new store will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
