MahaMetro Tests Central Avenue Reach Segment IV | Nagpur News

Nagpur: The test of section IV of MahaMetro between Sitabuldi interchange and Vaishno Devi Square metro station took place on Friday.
The test was a precursor to the launch of commercial services on the Sitabuldi-Prajapati Nagar metro station interchange in the coming days. “Almost 99% of the project work on the section has been completed and the rest would be completed within the next 10 days,” said Brijesh Dixit, general manager of MahaMetro.
According to a press release, the subway runs parallel to Central Avenue.
The entire section IV, except for the Sitabuldi interchange, has nine stations – Cotton Market, Nagpur Station, Dosar Vaishya Square, Agrasen Square, Chitar Oli, Telephone Exchange Square, Ambedkar Square, Vaishno Devi Square and Prajapati Nagar Metro Stations. The section would serve as a connection point between the eastern and western parts of Nagpur.
Speaking to the media, Dixit said that once work on Section IV is completed, the Metro Rail Safety Commissioner (RSMC) will undertake the mandatory inspection, paving the way for the start of passenger services on this route. . Speaking of the ongoing project work in Reach-II, which runs from the Sitabuldi interchange to Automotive Square metro station, he said: “The section integrates the first four-layer transportation system across India . The Gaddigodam bridge weighs 1,680 tons and was manufactured in the Butibori industrial zone. It would take another 20 days to put the bridge in place.
