Man hospitalized after pedestrian accident on Shields Avenue near Cornelia Avenue
FRESNO, Calif. (November 15, 2022) – A 44-year-old man was injured in a pedestrian accident on Shields Avenue on Sunday, November 13.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim walked around 7 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Shields Avenue, east of Cornelia Avenue. Then an eastbound driver who did not notice the pedestrian rammed him.
According to reports, the pedestrian was seriously injured. Paramedics rushed him to the Community Regional Medical Center, where he is undergoing medical treatment.
The CHP said the driver cooperated with officers and was not under the influence.
Authorities closed off part of Shields Avenue while the investigation continues. All avenues are already open.
