Tata Steel’s Sukinda Mine Wins Kalinga Environmental Excellence Award

Jamshedpur, June 13: Tata Steel Mining limited’s Sukinda chromite mine located in Jajpur district of Odisha has been awarded the prestigious “Kalinga Environment Excellence Award-2021” organized by the Institute of Quality and Environmental Management Services.

The award was received by Sushant Kumar Mishra, Senior Managing Director, Mines, TSML on behalf of the company from Chief Guest Dr. K Murugesan, Member Secretary, National Pollution Control Council, Odisha, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kolkata Andalib Elias and other dignitaries during the award ceremony during the National Seminar on Sustainable Environment and Climate Change -2022 held in Bhubaneshwar.

Expressing his joy at receiving the award, Pankaj Kumar Satija, Managing Director of TSML, said, “Environmental protection is central to TSML’s corporate strategy and value system and will continue to be biodiversity, safety and social considerations in all its operational decisions. . She believes that operating sustainably and responsibly is not only a business imperative, but also a long-term competitive advantage,” he added.
