Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue bring a taste of New Orleans to New Jersey

Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews & Orleans Avenue brought a taste of New Orleans to New Jersey on Friday. The group stopped Mayo Performing Arts Center to Morristown for a funky NOLA threauxdown as part of the Tour off the chain.

Trombone Shorty recently got back on the road after a busy summer and fall. Earlier this year, the New Orleans stalwart hosted the VOodoo tour of Threauxdowna traveling funk circus featuring Tank and the Bangas, Greater Freedia, Cyril Neville the ruler of uptownand soul rebelsmore a tribute to the pioneers of funk meters led by founding bassist George Porter Jr. with the torchbearers of modern times dumpstaphunk.

Trombone Shorty too tour alongside Gov’t Mule in August and has made a few recent TV appearances, including on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel liveand America’s Got Talent. It will happen at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York later this month.

Trombone Shorty’s tour continues tonight, Saturday November 5 at Zeiterion Performing Arts Center in New Bedford, MA, with upcoming dates including a stop at Nashville’s Ryman-Auditorium and a two-night run for New Year’s Eve at belly tavern Solana Beach, California on December 30 and 31.
